Part Of Your World (Thor X Reader) (One-shot)

"Hey Thor." you said as you passed him in the hallway. He grinned nervously, waving hi before you walked away out of sight. He grabbed his chest. His heart was beating out of control. He walked into the lab where Tony and Bruce were having an argument.

"I need your help doctor." Thor said as he cut in between the two of them.

"What is it?" Bruce asked, turning his attention away from Tony.

"My heart. It is beating at a rapid pace and will not stop." he said, taking the doctors hand and placing it over his heart. Bruce was shocked by the action.

"And when did this start?" Bruce asked.

"Since I returned here, and it only happens sometimes." he answered.

"Well whatever it is, it seems to have stopped." Bruce said as he felt Thor's heart return to normal and removed his hand. "Are you sure there isn't something that's been trigging it?"

"I have not the slightest clue." he answered with a look of worry in his eyes.

"Well there has to be something. Tell me exactly what happened." Bruce sat down, and waited.

"The morning was the same as it always has been. I awoke, had my fill, said hello to (Name), then came here." he explained. Bruce and Tony instantly knew the source and laughed, confusing Thor. "Have I missed the joke?"

"No-umm-ha. It's because of (Name)." Bruce tried to stop from laughing.

"Has she cursed me? Poisoned me?" Thor asked, still confused.

"No! Nothing like that." Tony said.

"Then what has she done to make my heart feel this way?" Thor asked. He was being so serious but that didn't stop the two from laughing.

"It's because." Bruce paused. "Tony want to take this?"

"Well Thor. You are feeling this way because you are in love with (Name)." Tony said bluntly. Thor snorted, then laughed so loud it rattled the beakers on the table.

"That is a funny joke." he laughed.

"You don't have to believe us if you don't want to but that's how it is." Tony said, returning to his work. Silence. Then Thor got up and walked out. "Poor guy."

Thor stomped around the tower, trying to come to terms with his feelings.

"This cannot be." he mumbled to himself.

"Hey Thor." you said as you caught his eye. "Where ya heading?"

"Just walking." was all he could manage to say. His mind was preoccupied with his rapidly beating heart.

"Oh. Well I was just about to watch a movie. Care to join me?" you asked, showing him the Little Mermaid DVD in your hand.

"That sounds nice." he answered.

"Great." you smiled, leading the way to the theatre room.

Thor questioned the entire movie, but he did enjoy it.

"It was a good movie." Thor said as you took the DVD out.

"Really? I didn't think you liked it since you kept on questioning everything." you said with a chuckle.

"Sorry." he said.

"Oh. It's okay. No need to apologize." you said, startled. Thor got up from his seat, and started walking towards you. Your nerves got the better of you. "I'll see ya later!" you shouted as you ran out of the room.

Thor stood there, embarrassed, and afraid that he might've frightened you with his forcefulness. He wanted to take his mind off of you, so he began to sing.

Look at this stuff, isn't it neat?
Wouldn't you think my collections complete?
Wouldn't you think I'm the guy
The guy who has everything?

Look at this trove, treasures untold
How many wonders can one cavern hold?
Looking around here you'd think
Sure, he's got everything

He walked around the room as he sang.

I've got gadgets and gizmos a plenty
I've got whozits and whatzits galore
You want thingamabobs? I've got twenty!
But who cares? No big deal,
I want more

He walked out of the room, and looked out a window at the city below.

I wanna be where the people are
I wanna see, wanna see them dancing

Walking around on those
What do you call 'em? Oh, feet

Flipping your fins you don't get too far
Legs are required for jumping, dancing
Strolling along down a
What's that word again?
Street

Thor quickly made his way to your room.

Up where they walk, up where they run
Up where they stay all day in the sun
Wandering free
Wish I could be, part of that world

Up and Up the many flights of stairs, effortlessly.

What would I give if I could live
Out of these waters?
What would I pay to spend a day
Warm on the sand?

Betcha' on land, they'd understand
Bet they don't reprimand their daughters?

He sang with a shrug. Not caring if the word really fit.

Bright young men, sick of swimming
Ready to stand

And ready to know what the people know
Ask 'em my questions
And get some answers
What's a fire and why does it - what's the word?
Burn?

Finally, he made it to your floor. Taking his time as he approached your door.

When's it my turn?
Wouldn't I love, love to explore that shore up above?
Out of the sea
Wish I could be
Part of that world

He took a deep breath. Then knocked on your door.

"Just a second." you said before opening it a few seconds later. "Hey."

"Hi." he said trying to catch his breath, and ignoring his rapid heartbeats.

"You okay? I've never seen you gasping for air." you laughed, causing him to smile before he took your face in his hands, pulling it towards him and kissing you. You were shocked at first but eventually you kissed back.

"Told ya you loved her." Tony said, patting Thor's back as he passed by. You blushed as Thor smiled nervously.

"You love me?" you asked.

"Yes. I do." he answered shyly.

"I love you too." you grinned, before he quickly returned to kissing you.
