Beauty and the Beast (Bruce X Reader) (One-shot)


"Hey Brucie." you said as you walked by the lab.

"Hi." he said back, unenthusiastically. You walked backwards back to the door.

"Hi? That's all I get. Just a 'hi'." you mocked him jokingly.

"Why hello there (Name), how are you today?" Bruce asked, sarcastically.

"I don't appreciate the sarcasm but I'm good. How are you doctor?" you smiled.

"Good." he said, before going back to his work. Then you noticed the stereo had a cd in it and that it was paused.

"What are you listening to?" you asked, about to press the button.

"No!" he yelled but it was too late and Be Our Guest from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast began to play. You smiled creepily while Bruce hid his face in his hands.

"I didn't know you were a Disney fan Dr. Banner." you continued to smile.

"You never asked." he mumbled.

"What's your favorite song?" you asked, getting closer to the doctor.

"Why?" he asked, looking up at you curiously.

"Because I want to know." you answered. "Maybe we can sing it together."

"I'm not going to tell you." he smiled.

"Come on, please?"

"No."

"Pretty please?"

"No."

"Well why not?" you pouted, putting your hands on your hips.

"Why should I tell you?" he asked, going back to his work.

"Because I'm going to keep bugging you until you tell me." you smiled evilly. He paused for a moment to think it over.

"Okay fine." he paused. You grinned with joy, awaiting his answer. "It's Beauty and the Beast."

"Awe." was the first thing you said before playing the song on the stereo. You just stared at him awkwardly as you made connections between the lyrics and your relationship with Bruce. While Bruce stared down at his work.

The song ended but neither of you spoke for a few minutes.

"That's a great song." you smiled.

"Yeah. Award winning." he added.  More silence, until you began to sing.


(You)There's something sweet and almost kind
But he was mean and he was coarse and unrefined
But now he's dear and so unsure
I wonder why I didn't see it there before


You waited a bit for Bruce to sing along.


(Bruce)She glanced this way, I thought I saw
And when we touched she didn't shudder at my paw
No it can't be, I'll just ignore
But then she's never looked at me that way before

(You)New and a bit alarming
Who'd have ever thought that this could be?
True that he's no Prince Charming
But there's something in him that I simply didn't see


Bruce did a perfect Lumiere impression that got you laughing.


(Bruce)Well, who'd have thought?


Then you tried your best as Mrs. Potts.


(You)Well, bless my soul


Bruce also did a great Cogsworth impression, not surprisingly.


(Bruce)Well, who'd have known?
(You)Well, who indeed?
(Bruce)And who'd have guessed they'd come together on their own?
(You)It's so peculiar. Wait and see

(Both)We'll wait and see
A few days more
There may be something there that wasn't there before

(Bruce)You know, perhaps there's something there that wasn't there before
(You)There may be something there that wasn't there before


The two of you just smiled at one another.

"So-" you began to say before Bruce cut you off.

"I love you." You blushed instantly, unable to speak. Bruce looked away, embarrassed. It took you awhile to gain your words.

"Bruce." you paused, waiting for him to look up at you. "I love you too."

The two of you smiled before Bruce stood up, walked towards you and pulled your face to his and kissed you. He pulled away suddenly.

"I love you." he smiled.

"I know." you smiled before he kissed you again. Then you pulled away. "Bye Dr. Banner." you added before walking away.

"What? Where are you going?" he asked, confused.

"To go tell everyone about your love for Disney." you smiling evilly. Then you ran out of the room with the doctor chasing after you.







*Extended Ending*

Bruce finally caught you a while later, and you hadn't told anyone about his love for Disney. Now you were eating lunch together in the lab.

"Bruce, I've been thinking." you started to say.

"A dangerous pastime." he smiled.

"I know..." you added before the two of you started laughing.” Okay, you are seriously obsessed with the Beauty and the Beast."

"You wouldn’t’ve known I was quoting it if you weren’t obsessed too." he grinned.

"You got me, I'm a Disney-fanatic." you laughed.  

"Good. Another reason why I'm in love with you." he smiled as you blushed at his words.

"Why do you have to be so sweet?" you asked, shaking his shoulders.

"I don't know, why? Is it a problem?" he asked, curious.

"No, of course not." you paused, and awhile later he spoke.

"You really are a funny girl. A beauty but a funny girl. You really are a funny girl-"

"Shut up." you smiled, before pulling his face to yours and kissing him. He pulled away awhile later.

"You didn't let me finish the song."

"Oh, I'm so sorry. I'm totally going to let you finish." you said, sarcastically.

"I love you." he smiled, slowly pulling her face to his.

"I love you too."
